The North Killingsworth Street Station, part of Portland, Oregon's Yellow Max line for public transit, opened May 1, 2004. Artwork at this station was developed through a mentorship between Adriene Cruz and design team artist, Valerie Otani. As in all Adriene Cruz's designs for textile and public art, the station and adjoining bus stops feature vibrant, colorful patterns inspired by the traditional arts of Africa, South America and India. This design was honored by being showcased on the covers of the Yellow Line's Opening Celebration and informational brochures.
